The St. Croix Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC) is under the direct purview of the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Education and is part of the St. Croix Educational Complex. It is centrally located directly across from the University of the Virgin Islands on Queen Mary's Highway. The day to day administration is the responsibility of the Principal, Mr. Myrl Hendricks, and the appointed program director, Mrs. Jo Ann Murphy. The Career and Technical Education Board and the VI Board of Education work jointly in establishing policy for all educational programs in the U.S. Virgin Islands and are responsible for reviewing the qualification and approving the instructor pool for technical and academic programs respectively.
The mission of the Career and Technical Education Center is to provide both high school students and adult members of our community with an opportunity to develop a career and a nationally certified technical skill in a professional, technologically advanced and stimulating learning environment.
The Adult Continuing Education Program are scheduled in the evening from 5:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. , Monday through Thursday. Internships, "On the Job Training" and some national/industry testing activities are scheduled based on the needs of students and participating agencies, businesses and testing centers’ schedules.
